Watts, let me just say that the first thing I bet is on a lot of people's minds is not the troubles of the wealthy. It's called "Fables of Fortune: What Rich People Have That You Don't Want." His name is Richard Watts and he is with us now. And he says he should know because he is a financial and legal advisor to the very wealthy. If you're still contemplating the fantasy of what you could do with money like that, college and retirement funds paid up, a second home, shopping sprees, a life with no worries, our next guest says that old cliche really is true. But if the disappointment of not being a few hundred million dollars richer is still on your mind, this conversation is for you. It's been weeks since that huge lottery jackpot made just a few people millionaires and left many of the rest of us with worthless tickets stuffed in our junk drawers. I will still say it’s very pretty, and better than anything I had a chance to make, bah.We turn now from consumer protection to personal finance. Also, under the Dirt Tour I think it would have been nicer if the city names were part of the map, or maybe even little flags stuck onto the map, breaking the 3D stuff away from sub menus of main menu. I don’t mind it being immersive and exploring is always fun the first time around, but soon you’ll find yourself frustrated having to go though all these transitions to see where is the sound options etc. When I navigate a website or menus in a game I want to see all the options available to me on one page. When it comes to menus I think usability is main factor, then make it pretty and fancy. Very slick transitions into the loading screen as well, love the immersiveness in that area. The 2D work is gorgeous, graphic design at it best in my opinion, it has this fresh look that showcases how far UK has come with graphic design. My problem with the DVD style of the 3D menus is usability, surely it’s very nice to look at, at the tech support they must have gotten to implement all these features is impressive in its own. With Colin McRae DiRT 2 menus they take it in a different direction, which to be honest I’m not sure myself works. I’ve always been a huge fan of their UI work, and the menus in first Dirt were simply amazing, probably first ever 3D menus in a game that worked! Maybe it’s too late now as Apple is moving over to the touch interface like on iPhones.Īfter seeing these videos, do you think Microsoft has a chance to compete with Apple market? Would you buy Zune HD?įinally a video showcasing the menus and interface of Colin McRae DiRT 2. There is nothing wrong with the iPod UI and it seemed to have worked for the consumers, but I think few things could have been done to make it a bit more appealing. Apple’s iPod didn’t change much over the years with its interfaces other than adding the cover flow and slightly polished graphics. The Zune HD itself has a very smooth navigation and easy for user.
Somehow I doubt they did though, my guess would be that it was contracted out to some design studio and I will try to investigate who if that’s the case because they indeed did a pretty decent job! The whole concept of being able to just connect it to a HD TV and play music and movies sounds very appealing, so I definitely be keeping my eyes closer on that product now. Who would have thought that Microsoft can do a appealing interface! Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition Release Date: Īnd those without dates that hopefully will not come out before next year!
